Juan Carlos Osma is Cuban born - Australian based choreographer and Soloist at Western Australian Ballet Company known for his contributions to the world of dance and is credited for oustanding performance and celebrated for diversifying the world of ballet.
He studied with the critically acclaim cuban national ballet school ‘Fernando Alonso’ where he learned the fundamental of classical ballet that later formed the core of his innovative choreography.
He than joined ‘Ballet Revolution’ as a lead dancer and assistant choreographer, touring around the globe including France, Italy, Australia, Germany, Switzerland and UK with the exclusive performance for His Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II .
He than moved to South Africa to dance with Johannesburg Ballet where he debuted his first piece ‘Twitter’ and soon after he became one of the company resident choreographers.
In 2016 Osma was appointed as a Guest Principal dancer for Liaoning Ballet in China where he choreographed and performed for the Primariinsky Theatre Ballet Company in Russia.
In 2019 Juan Carlos Osma was invited to join Western Australian Ballet Company where he continued developing his dance style, creating new classical movements in his work ‘Moment of Joy’, Ballet at the Quarry, and challenging audiences perspective of ballet with his piece ‘Music First’ for Genesis, combining theatrical visual elements with flirtatious dance movements.
In 2023 he founded his own company Osma Productions with the vision to redefine performing art experiences by combining elements of classical and contemporary ballet, opera, live music and visual arts.
